The soiree was followed by the award ceremony with over 200 guests including a fantastic array of salons along with local connexions, schools and learning provisions including; The Hub- Tower Hamlets, Islington 14-19 Partnership, Hackney Learning Trust and Flexible Learning Programme.

Special Awards of the night went to school learners Paisley Squires for Learner of the Year at Harpley Inclusion Support Centre, Jilla Mobo and Nadine Taylor for Outstanding Personal Development at Mount Carmel School, Apprenticeship Level 2 graduates Charlotte Lee-Gough for Outstanding Achiever of the year, Becky Barnes for Dedicated Learner of the year, Sheree Devine for Dedicated Learner of the year, and Carley Smith for Student of the year.

The launch of the Joshua Galvin ‘Preferred Training Salon’ was presented to the audience, a new scheme for salons who promote NVQ / Apprenticeship training for their staff.  The Preferred Training Salon is an exclusive membership which offers a range of benefits, including; free recruitment for all junior staff, free listing on the Joshua Galvin website and ‘Central’ magazine,  updates on all new legislation and training courses available, window sticker and certificate for salons to display recognising they are a ‘Preferred Training Salon’.

Beverly C ended the evening with a speech stating how lucky she has been in the hairdressing industry although hard work played a massive part in her achievements, it can be very frustrating for those hairdressers who work their socks off and are unable to reap the benefits and see their progression in the industry, but hard work, patience and education are the ways in which to achieve these goals.
