Joshua Galvin @ Central Hairdressing Academy is the largest NVQ Level 2 training provider in the UK.

Joshua Galvin @ Central Hairdressing Academy work with salons across the UK and learners (apprentices) to deliver a national vocational qualification (NVQ) in Hairdressing 1 & 2, and any relevant functional skills.

How does the apprenticeship work?

If you are interested in hairdressing and have a creative flair, this is your chance to gain the skills necessary to start your career in hairdressing. The apprenticeship means you will be paid a wage whilst you work towards your qualification and we can help find you a job.

The training you will receive is on a day release basis that fits around you and your salon, if you are completing an NVQ level 2 you can expect to achieve this within 2 years, if you are completing an NVQ level 1 you can expect to achieve this in 12 weeks.

Previous skills or experience are not necessary and training is FREE.

Apprenticeships

Hairdressing Apprenticeship includes : Cutting, Styling & Finishing, Setting, Colouring and Adding Hair.

At the end of the course the learners will receive a NVQ certificate from City & Guilds and Joshua Galvin @ Central Hairdressing Academy certificate.

Barbering Apprenticeship includes : Scissor Over Comb, Clipper Over Comb, Wet Shaving and Patterns

At the end of the course the learners will receive a NVQ certificate from City & Guilds and Joshua Galvin @ Central Hairdressing Academy certificate.

Intensive Courses: Diploma level 2 Beauty Specialist (for those aged 19+) Course is delivered 2 days a week over a 6 month period. Includes: Facials, Manicures, Pedicures, Waxing, Eyebrow and Eyelash Treatments and Make-up.

Salon employment isn’t mandatory but placements/work experience can be arranged IF the individual would like to.

At the end of the course the learners will receive a Diploma certificate from ITEC and Joshua Galvin @ Central Hairdressing Academy certificate.

Foundation Learning (Level 1 Hairdressing & Barbering)

This course includes; Health & Safety, Shampoo & Condition, Effective Working Relationships and Hand & Nail Care.

At the end of the course the learners will receive an NVQ certificate from City & Guilds and Joshua Galvin @ Central Hairdressing Academy certificate.

Assessors Award

This qualification is for salon staff that are currently or will be looking after the assessment of apprentices working towards their NVQ. This award will allow you to gain the necessary skills in assessing techniques and the principles of assessing by using a variety of assessment methods.

Benefits include: ability to assess your own apprentices, fast track your apprentices through their practical work and gain all the underpinning knowledge.
