About the Academy

Joshua Galvin Hairdressing Academy is the London hairdressing provision of Central Training Group.

Central Training Group is City & Guilds largest NVQ Level 2 hairdressing provider in the UK. Celebrating 25 years of delivery, starting with just 15 learners now training over 1500 learners across the UK. The quality of training has been judged by OFSTED as a Grade 2, the second time in four years and as being in the top 10% of training providers and colleges across the country.

The Academy now offers a variety of programmes including; School Project, Foundation Learning (NVQ Level 1), NVQ Level 2, Apprenticeships and Assessors Award.

Courses include; Ladies Hairdressing, Combined Hair Types, Barbering, Business & Administration, Customer Service, Team Leading and Management.

Mentoring

To encourage learners to achieve we understand there may be external factors that may disrupt or prolong their achievement, therefore, we offer a mentoring service. Qualified mentors are based at all our sites in London and Essex to provide support and guidance to those who are experiencing problems either at college, in-work or at home that could affect their course progression.  All information passed onto our mentors are dealt in the strictest confidence.  Regular support is given to the learner and access to external support if needed.

Safeguarding

Central Training Group believes every learner has the right to learn and work in a safe environment and have someone they can rely on for support and guidance.  On entering the Academy learners will be introduced to their mentor who will  work alongside the learner’s tutor to provide a familiar face for them to turn to if needed during their time at the Academy.
