    Double Celebrations

    Wella World audience, London, were treated to a double celebration of graduates collecting their certificates of achievement and singing Happy Birthday to the host of the evening Joshua Galvin.
    Special guest Annie Humphreys co-hosted the graduation to a packed audience including founder of Alternative Hair and Sanrizz Tony Rizzo, Hob’s Paul Simbler, Junior Green, International Marketing Director of Vidal Sassoon Susie Much and Customer Business Development Key Account Manager for Wella Paul Oscroft.

    Graduates from NVQ Hairdressing Level 1, 2 and School’s programmes entered the stage to collect their hard earned achievements along with Joshua Galvin @ Central training tutor Emma Crosbie for achieving her Assessor’s Award, Claire Boylan for Assessor of 2009 and salons; Kaizo, Sanrizz, Jo Partridge, 370 Hair & Beauty, Clipso and Alleycatz collected their ‘Preferred Training Salon’ certificates, a scheme launched last year by Joshua Galvin @ Central Training to recognise those salons who employ active NVQ Assessor’s and encourage and deliver training to all their junior staff enrolled at the Academy.  Special awards went out to Dedicated Learner  David Bartlett, Outstanding Achiever of the Year Samantha Langford and Student of the Year Charles Coppin.

    Annie Humphreys stated “ I am honoured to do the speech this evening as I feel a sense of passion at the Joshua Galvin Academy as the training and celebrations are focused on the learner”

  • Hairdressing is NEET

    Joshua Galvin @ Central Training teamed up with BTEG (Black Training & Enterprise Group) over the summer, attending a series of NEET events across the boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Haringey, Lambeth to promote Hairdressing Apprenticeships and Training opportunities available to Black and Minority ethnics.
    Being the only Hairdressing provider amongst Construction, Electricians, Plumbing colleges, helped brighten up the audiences with motivated speeches detailing how Apprenticeships are the key to a successful future. 
    “Having a trade under your belt will set you up for life, you can go anywhere in the world and never be out of pocket” Joshua Galvin.
    In response to the Academy attending each event, Emma Foxall Apprenticeships for ME Coordinator stated the following:
    “I just wanted to say a large and final THANK YOU for all of your support over the last few months. I’ve so enjoyed meeting you and finding out about your Apprenticeships. Joshua, your talks have livened up all of the events and anyone would be mad not to want to do a hairdressing Apprenticeship after hearing you speak! I hope that the events have been useful for you too and that you have some applicants as a result of them”

    Joshua Galvin’s Preferred Training Salon scheme was delighted to award its first certified salon to Ciente, Berkhampsted. Salon owner Trisha Buller was presented with the Preferred Training Salon certificate and window sticker by the ‘Godfather of Hairdressing’ Joshua Galvin and Central Training Group’s Chairman, Martin Kolton .

    “Joshua and I are very pleased to be awarding Trisha this award as the first salon to join ‘Preferred Training Salon’ scheme.  Ciente have always been a firm supporter of training and education and raising standards within the hairdressing industry."

    The Preferred Training Salon is the first of its kind to recognise hair salons that employ qualified and experienced stylists by providing high quality services and excellent training for all their staff. 

    Trisha added, “To receive an award such as this is a real honour. Education is very important to me and at Ciente we endeavour to deliver standards second to none, we grow our team from workshop pre-school leavers through to successful, talented stylists.

    The launch of Joshua Galvin ‘Preferred Training Salon’ scheme was announced at the recent graduation at Wella world Studios.

    Once a salon has been recognised by the scheme, they are presented with a Joshua Galvin ‘Preferred Training Salon’ window sticker and certificate plus awarded with an array of benefits including; Free recruitment service for all your junior staff, Free listing on our Joshua Galvin @ Central website and ‘Central’ magazine, Window sticker and / Certificate for your salon to display, Priority updates on all legislation, Priority updates on all our training courses and ‘Preferred Salon’ Awards presented at our annual graduation.
